I wish all the best to BENTT, and I also wish them much continued success. I poured out everything I had, sacrificed career and family in pursuit of a dream we had all shared. If I had been allowed to continue in this band, there's no telling what we could have achieved or accomplished. Throughout the nearly three-year period of the band, it's clear to me that we had a lot more in the tank. Especially with the addition of the energetic Bob Clise on kicks in October. (As I listen to the powerful, anthemic "Catching Rain" as I write this), I'm reminded of the phenomenal and completely undeniable talent of Johnny Hamman as a lyricist. And Shawn Tart's elusive drumming style on this track was a work of an utter genius and madman. (Too bad the production couldn't have been better to really hear his drumming properly. To this day... I feel this was our "Whole Lotta Love", a masterpiece of chemistry done when we as a band were at our infancy. It's no surprise to me now that the track got played on the radio in Europe and received critical acclaim in the Czech Republic. The sound was pure, retro, EURO-POWER METAL.
It's no easy task for two talented songwriters find common ground however in which to work together with a common vision. Often personal egos and in-fighting develop as that frustration builds over a lack of interest from the popular media. I look forward to a "continued evolution" for my former band mates. I hope that those fans of BENTT will continue to follow my current and future projects as well. (Certainly "Jack Shepperd" has no plans to turn back!) I also urge you all to stay patient for the debut BENTT cd which may in fact make it's long-awaited debut in the near future. I'm very proud of the masterpiece of production it became, and I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to contribute.
